Margo Moonbeam came to our Rescue as a 5 week old Boston with hydrocephalus. She was surrendered to us by a breeder in NC who knew right away something was different about Margo. He did the most compassionate thing he could for Margo, and that was inform her potential family & immediately reach out to our FB page in hopes of finding help for her. We are so thankful to the care he has provided Margo & getting her to us quickly.
Hydrocephalus literally means “water on the brain," meaning an excess of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) has built up inside the skull. The fluid causes extra pressure to build up in the skull, making Margo vulnerable to complications in the future. Taking on a hydrocephalus case is taking on hospice care. For however long that may be. This might be hard to read, but it’s the reality.
Past pups have taught us that birth defects and special needs should never stand in the way of providing the BEST possible care and love we have to give.
This dog is being fostered by Luna Bell's Moonbows Special Needs Fostering under BTRET. Luna Bell's provides homes and fundraising for the dogs in their care, and additional funds they raise are distributed specifically to the dogs in our BTRET-KY division.
